TREND REPORT: TRANSEASON 2015
POLKA DOT PERFECTION
Popularized in the late nineteenth century, defining bikinis of the 50s and 60s and playing the part of the print du jour on day-dresses of the 70s and 80s—polka dots have proven their staying power. Come 2015, the quintessentially romantic motif makes a modern statement with graphic and three-dimensional effects by way of pearl-embroidered cashmere sweaters, a sequin-stitched tulle skirt, hole-punched brogues and a belt over that iconic bikini. Anchored by sportif stripes, an androgynous French cuff poplin shirt or a tailored Capri trouser, it’s the pattern of the season.
I WANTED TO FOCUS ON THE IDEA OF A REALLY ROMANTIC FEMININE ATTITUDE AND DETAILS, BUT WITH A VERY GRAPHIC AND CLEAN-LINED POINT OF VIEW.
