Michael Kors rolls up his sleeves for a good cause.

Fantastic Four: Lance Le Pere, Hilary Rhoda, Michael Kors and Blaine Trump

The spacious sunlit kitchen with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Spring Street was filled with lighthearted laughter on a recent Tuesday morning. The occasion? Michael Kors and team, including husband Lance Le Pere, model Hilary Rhoda and philanthropist Blaine Trump, all in matching aprons and baseball caps, were at the chopping tables prepping meals at God’s Love We Deliver.

The New York-based organization that cooks and packs meals for people living with severe illness has been providing services to those in need for over 30 years. Michael Kors has been a devoted supporter since the 1980s and is now a member of the board.

This year, Kors’ private contributions, combined with city grants, allowed the organization to open a new Michael Kors Building in SoHo, doubling their space. With over 48,500 square feet, an Anna Wintour Volunteer Center, Joan Rivers Bakery and a roof garden where chefs grow basil and mint, God’s Love We Deliver is all set to keep up the good work for years to come.

God’s Love We Deliver was founded in 1985.  There are  83  staff members  in the offices. Every year  8,000 volunteers donate their services to the  organization. They help prepare and deliver  5,400 meals every day. On  the day Kors volunteered in the kitchen, he and his team chopped  500 lb.  of vegetables in   hours helping prep over  1,000  meals. In  2015  Michael Kors employees contributed  856  hours of service to the cause.
