Travel Diary

To coincide with the Michael Kors Fall catalog that was shot in Paris, Michael Kors and Caroline de Maigret, author of “How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits”, paint a picture of His (Michael’s), Her (Caroline’s) and Their picks of the shops, cafes, restaurants, neighborhoods, culture and sightseeing that are a must-do when in the city.

Bistro Paul Bert

A little off the beaten path but worth it. I’m the kind of guy who likes a great steak without all the frills, and Paul Bert delivers on all accounts.

If you need a gift, this is where you go. They have the chicest teas and spices in the most beautiful packaging.

Le Castiglione Café

The famed Castiglione burger—it’s hands-down the best one in Paris. And trust me, I know burgers.

Le Coq Rico

Because sometimes all you want is a perfectly roasted chicken— look no further.

This is my favorite place in the world to people watch. I can spend a whole afternoon at one of the outdoor tables watching the world go by!

Chez Georges

The only place to go when you’re craving a little escargot. I love the cozy décor and the old-school vibe.

Astier de Villatte

I buy plates, cups, vases, everything there. It all looks like it belonged to your old classy aunt. I love it. I get a lot of my presents there.

DeBeaulieu Fleuriste

The owner is a real artist, his bouquets are amazing. He has flowers you rarely see and he mixes them together to make special compositions.

Musée de la Vie Romantique (and its tea house)

A cute house hidden behind a big Parisian door. It is full of paintings and furniture. The best part is that you can just have a tea in the flowery garden. I do a lot of my rendez-vous there in the summer.

L'Hotel Particulier

An amazing hotel and cocktail bar with its own private garden at the foot of Montmartre.

Brasserie Thoumieux

I love eating there, and you don’t need to go to the second floor, which is more gastronomic. The first floor is a bistro with the most amazing food and desserts. I try not to go there too often, it drives me crazy.

Musée Picasso

What an amazing collection this museum has, it seems endless. I could go everyday, just to watch one piece. I'm blushing at the idea of trying to describe my feeling towards Picasso's perfection.
