MICHAEL KORS in SHANGHAI
A stylish, star-studded affair in China.
“Walk Of The Town” in Shanghai: Ella Richards, Soo Joo Park, Michael Kors, Princess Olympia of Greece and Hikari Nori walk the red carpet at the Michael Kors the Walk Shanghai event.
Style is personal, but street style is meant to be shared. Michael Kors and a flurry of fashion’s favorite people from around the world descended upon Shanghai on Wednesday, November 15th to celebrate all things style.
The day kicked off at the Peninsula Hotel, where Michael walked top clients, models and It girls through the Fall 2017 and Resort 2018 Michael Kors Collections. Guests were also treated to a special introduction of the season’s must-have bags, including the Bancroft satchel.
Shanghai-based blogger Leaf Greener then led influencers Yoyo Cao, Caroline Daur, Tina Leung, Chriselle Lim and Evangelie Smyrniotaki through the French Concession neighborhood to The YongFoo Elite club. The ladies indulged in a traditional Chinese lunch (featuring over 20 courses!) at the former consulate turned private club in the diplomatic district before heading over to explore the Jing’An Temple. Situated on West Nanjing Road, the Chinese Buddhist temple is one of the most famous in Shanghai.
Later that evening, over 1,000 people showed off their personal style at Michael Kors The Walk Shanghai. The party, named after and in celebration of the brand’s seasonal street style campaign, was held at the Shanghai Expo I-Pavilion. After entering through a shimmering palm tree projection, attendees were invited to make their very own Michael Kors The Walk fashion film. The “Kors Walkbox”, a first-of-its-kind fifty-foot box employing LED lighting, cameras and AI editing, instantly produced and shared the videos, which made it appear as if users were walking down legendary streets in cities around the world.
VIP sightings included stars from previous global Michael Kors The Walk campaigns (clockwise from top left): new Michael Kors brand ambassador Yang Mi, Soo Joo Park, Hikari Mori, Princess Olympia of Greece and Ella Richards. Other celebrities to walk the red carpet included, Fil Xiao Bai, Jelly Lin, Chrissie Chau and Mark Zhao.
Throughout the night, guests also snapped pictures in front of fully realized cityscapes, enjoyed music by DJ Sebastian and Mark Zhao, and were treated to a performance by Bibi Zhou.
