Flowers, food, fashion—planning the perfect party really is an art form, and no one throws a soirée like Michael Kors. To commemorate photographer Claiborne Swanson Frank’s new book, Young Hollywood, Kors indulged in all the details, inviting 175 guests to a glamorous gathering at a mid-century modern home in Beverly Hills’ Trousdale Estates neighborhood. Here, we let you in on all the stylish signature touches.
Talk about a room with a view. The living room transformed into a gallery of Swanson Frank’s favorite photographs from her book, while trays of small bites—tuna tacos, lobster rolls, sliders—and glasses of Champagne circulated as guests arrived.
An on-hand makeup artist and vignettes of Michael Kors products—fragrance, bronzer, lip color—decorated the powder room, while behind-the-scene beauty shots from Young Hollywood provided apt inspiration.
Copies of Young Hollywood were scattered around for guests to enjoy. Here, model Laura Love peruses a few of the pages—some of which feature photographs of the rising stars shot at this very house.
Swanson Vineyards, Swanson Frank’s family’s winery in Napa Valley, provided a variety of wines, ranging from robust reds to lighter whites, while adding a polished personal touch.
Setting the Mood
Amidst a backdrop of palm trees and the L.A. skyline, the chic aesthetic was punctuated by long dinner tables topped with glowing candles and decadent dahlia bouquets. Guests dined on shrimp cocktail, steak frites and family-style sides of creamed spinach, roasted Brussels sprouts and French fries.
Face the Music
After a few words from the host, Zoe Kravitz and her band Lolawolf took center stage, performing three songs, including a brand new track entitled “Start Now Stop.”
Guests were sent off in style with an embossed leather clutch, customized with their initials.
