Gwyneth Paltrow in Michael Kors in London
Around the World

Michael Kors celebrates the opening of his largest European flagship.

Eyes on the prize: Jessica Chastain, Michael Kors and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Michael Kors may call New York home, but London—which he references as a “continuous source of inspiration”—has always been dear to the designer’s heart. So it makes sense that the new flagship opening on Regent Street was a particularly star-studded affair, with friends and fans of the brand jetting in from around the world to help him celebrate the opening of his largest European store.

And what a celebration it was. Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Chastain brought the Hollywood star power, while Solange Knowles had all eyes on her in a pair of glittering crystal-beaded Michael Kors Collection pants. Fresh off the announcement of Michael Kors’ partnership with the McLaren-Honda Formula 1 team, drivers Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso joined in the celebrations, while a shimmer of supermodels including Elle Macpherson, Natasha Poly and Arizona Muse lent some high-fashion edge. A dose of royalty, courtesy of Princess Olympia of Greece, rounded out the crowd of A-listers.

The party kicked off with cocktails at the new 16,275-square-foot Regent Street flagship. Award-winning British illustrator Clym Evernden created one-of-a-kind illustrations celebrating Michael Kors in London for the store’s windows. Later in the evening, a selection of VIP guests made their way to London’s River Café for an intimate dinner, mingling over champagne in the garden before moving inside for dinner in the iconic restaurant’s blue and white dining room. With the sun setting over the sparkling Thames, it was a fitting end to Michael Kors’ London milestone.
