Around the World

Fabulous fashion and flashing lights: we follow the sartorial star to Taipei to get swept up in the glamour of the Michael Kors Jet Set Selma event.

With her eclectic-meets-sophisticated sense of style, Tina Leung turns heads no matter what city she’s landed in. When the fashion-forward blogger and stylist jetted into Taipei to attend the Michael Kors Jet Set Selma event, we took the opportunity to talk to her about Taiwan, travel and trendsetting.

Q: Now that you’ve visited Taipei, what do you think of Taiwanese style?
“It seems like the women are very feminine and in touch with their sensual side. The girls here are gorgeous.”
Q:How do you define your signature look?
“I don’t think I have a signature look, as it changes with my mood. I can be girly one day and wear a men’s suit the next. I think that’s part of the fun of fashion—you can change yourself with a change of clothes.”
Q: What’s your top tip for being street-style snapped?
“Be comfortable in what you’re wearing and be yourself.”
Q: What’s your go-to outfit during the party season?
“I absolutely adore gold and love a whole lot of sequins and anything shiny during the party season. Also, a headpiece and a great heel to finish it off.”

Q: What trend are you most excited to try for Fall/Winter?
“Gold, gold, gold (my favorite metal!) and all the feather-adorned looks.”
Q: Describe the Michael Kors brand in five words or less.
“Glamorous, luxurious, functional, fun, a lifestyle.”
Q: What’s your favorite Michael Kors piece that you own and why?
“I think my favorite piece will be the one I have yet to own: an appliquéd tulle skirt from Spring 2015.”

Q: What’s your dream vacation destination and what would you wear there?
“I have not been to South America, so I would love to tick that off my wish list (the list is long!). I’m thinking a body-con bodysuit with a pair of khaki wide-legged linen pants, a Panama hat and flat sandals would do the trick during the day. At night, a maxi skirt paired with a tee or a simple long dress with strappy heels.”
Q: The celebrities I’d love to style…
“Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton.”
Q: The actress who’d play me in a movie about my life…
“I know whom I’d like to play me, but who looks nothing like me, and that’s Angelina Jolie! A mix of Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett would be divine.”
