GOD’S LOVE WE DELIVER
Golden Heart Awards
The stars aligned this year for the God’s Love We Deliver 11th Annual Golden Heart Awards dinner, with Hollywood A-listers, models and fashion insiders coming together to raise funds for the charitable organization.
Gwyneth Paltrow, receiving the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service, looked award-worthy in a slinky embellished silver gown. Ever the muse, Kate Hudson showed off her new cropped haircut in a traffic-stopping custom red gown, while Maggie Gyllenhaal lit up the room in a sunny floral gown from Resort 2018.
There were plenty of models also supporting the cause, with Ashley Graham and Joan Smalls in graphic florals, Andreea Diaconu and Jourdan Dunn turning heads in metallic and Amber Valletta and Romee Strijd in chic LBDs.
After dinner and cocktails, Broadway star Andrew Rannells took to the stage to introduce the first honoree of the evening, Jordan Roth, who received the Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement. God’s Love We Deliver CEO Karen Pearl presented the next award to Jon Gilman, who has served on the God’s Love board for the past decade and co-authored the charity’s best-selling cookbook.
Between speeches, guests participated in a rousing auction that contributed to the $2.3 million raised for the evening, helping to ensure that those suffering from life-altering illness and their families receive nutrition and never go hungry.
Co-chairman Michael Kors announced the final award for the evening, presenting his long-time friend Gwyneth Paltrow with her Community Service award. “As she has said herself, Gwyneth is anything but passive. One of the things that I love about her is that she doesn’t do anything just to do it – she puts her heart into it, and Gwyneth has a big heart,” he said.
Listing her many charitable achievements, he concluded, “she is constantly looking for answers and solutions in the world around her. She’s a lot like God’s Love in that way. Look at a problem. Roll up your sleeves, and find a solution.”
